About Mia

Mia Pride is an award-winning author of historical and contemporary romance and a full-time mother of two rowdy boys, four dogs, a cat, a rabbit, a guinea pig, and a bearded dragon who resides in the SF Bay Area.

As a child, she often wrote stories about fantastic places or magical things, always preferring to live in a world where the line between reality and fantasy didn’t exist.

In High school, she entered writing contests and had some stories published in small newspapers or school magazines. As life continued, so did her love of writing. So one day, she decided to end her cake decorating business, pull out her laptop, and fulfill her dream of writing and publishing novels. And she did. Currently, Mia has fourteen published novels and many more in the works.

As a hybrid author, Mia has published books both independently and with Wolfebane Publishing. In 2019, Mia signed a three-book contract with Dragonblade Publishing for her Irvines of Drum series, a medieval Scottish historical romance. As a proud member of the Irvine clan in Scotland, writing about her ancestors has been a lifelong ambition.

In 2018, Mia received the Crowned Heart of Excellence Award from InD'Tale Magazine for two novels, "Forsworn Fate" and "The Warrior's Wager." Both were RONE Award finalists in their categories. In 2019, her books "The Warrior's Mission", "Rising Grace", and "Beast of the Bay" also earned her the Crowned Heart of Excellence award, and "The Warrior's Mission" went on to be a RONE finalist.

When Mia isn’t writing books or breaking up fights between her two prepubescent sons, she loves to drink coffee by the gallon, get lost in a good book, hike with her family and a beloved pug named Lucy, researching her Scottish and Irish heritage, and drink really big margaritas with her friends! She is a sucker for any themed party or excuse to dress up in costume, but her happy place is the Renaissance Faire, where you can find her at the joust, rooting for the shirtless highlander in a kilt.
